Have you ever asked yourself what is Zeolite? Probably not, Zeolites are naturally occurring minerals made up of aluminum and silicon compounds, so it may be referred to as an aluminosilicate mineral.
Zeolites are also described as being micro-porous, which means that the material has pores or holes with diameters less than 2 nanometers (NM). A NM is extremely small measurement of length. A diameter less than 2nm is a diameter of a billionth of a meter!
The shape is like a honey-comb, and it has a natural negative charge. This negative charge makes it perfect for use as a commercial adsorbent. When taken internally, the negative charge attracts substances with a positive charge.
It just so happens that heavy metals, toxins, and other harmful substances have positive charges. The harmful materials bond to the Zeolite since opposites attract and within 6 to 8 hours are eventually flushed down the toilet!
Use of Zeolites
Water purification and softening systems use zeolites as ion-exchange beds to replace positively charged ions with benign ions. So Zeolite’s negative charge can remove hard water’s double positive charged calcium and magnesium ions and replace them with single charged (benign) sodium and potassium ions for soft water.
It can also remove toxic ions such as lead, mercury, nitrites, arsenic and others. In chemistry class zeolites are often used to separate molecules for various tests since only certain sizes of molecules can pass through. Zeolites also make good catalysts and sorbets in different reactions.
They also help to remove nitrogen from compressed air so that oxygen can be supplied to airmen flying at high altitudes. Zeolite may come as a powder, as capsules, and as liquid Zeolite where it serves the function of detoxifying the body when taken internally.
Cancer and Zeolites
There is some evidence that Zeolite enhanced with DHQ may help prevent or mitigate certain cancers. DHQ stands for Dihydroquercetin which is a kind of antioxidant known as a flavonoid, a secondary plant metabolite.
Flavanoids in the diet are associated with decreased risk of gastric carcinoma in women and decreased risk of aero-digestive tract cancer in smokers. When this flavonoid known as DHQ is combined with zeolites the effect on cancer is unclear. It appears that the zeolites do all the work.
Since Zeolite removes toxins in the body, it may remove cancer causing toxins to protect you from cancer in that way. As mentioned earlier, the molecular structure of Zeolite like that of a honeycomb, traps free radicals that are associated with cancer as well as heart disease.
Trapping the free radicals can help prevent these diseases. Zeolite can also capture nitrates that are found in certain meats. Nitrates have also been linked to cancer. Using micronized Zeolite may be a better choice. Micronized means to process in a powdered form. In this case a very fine powder.
Liquid or Micronized Zeolite
Liquid zeolite is one form of the mineral that people use as a supplement. Not all Zeolite products are micronized. That is, taken down to it’s smallest powdered form so as to be able to penetrate throughout the body and even break through the blood brain barrier.
Micronized Zeolite is a far superior product. If you have used the liquid form, you ought to try the ingestible micronized Zeolite. You may have seen few if any results until you start taking the micronized form.
All of the scientific studies available have been done on the powdered form. These studies have shown that powdered Zeolite is beneficial to your health as a detox, as an immune booster, and plenty more.
Dosage of Zeolite
The scientific studies that showed that Zeolite was beneficial for immune boosting, cancer, detox, etc. used a dose that measured between 4,000 mg and 15,000 mg each day.
This means that you would have to drink about 20 bottles a day of liquid Zeolite to get even the minimal beneficial dose! Humic Acid is often used in the liquid suspensions because it is supposed to help the Zeolite enter the cell. The minimum therapeutic dose of Humic Acid is 33 mg daily.
Humic acid is a compound made by decaying plants. It is used to make medicine that stimulates the immune system and treats the flu. However, no scientific evidence exists to support this. Humic acid is used to treat soil if you wish to grow a vegetable garden, but that doesn’t mean it is safe for humans to consume. Don’t take chances with an untested substance that is regularly used as a fertilizer!
These health supplements are primarily used for a Zeolite detox which is used to free yourself from harmful toxins. Toxins can accumulate in your body over the years until at some point they may cause cancer, heart disease, or some other illness.
Free Radicals are toxic substances that may speed up the aging process. They are natural but we would do better without them. Mercury is a heavy metal that is associated with Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease among others. Pesticides in the environment are used on fruits and vegetables, so they are found in most folk’s bodies.
DDT is an infamous pesticide that was eventually banned in the 1970s. However it can still be found in the human body. All people are exposed to environmental toxins over a lifetime. Some you can avoid and others you cannot. Regular detox programs with zeolites are a good defense against toxin accumulation.
The FDA has listed Zeolite on the GRAS List (Generally Recognized As Safe.)
